Avenged Sevenfold, Buckcherry, Papa Roach & Saving Abel
2.9.09 – The Star Theater – Spokane, WA

papa roach

Saving Abel: I am NOT addicted to this band.

Before Papa Roach took the stage I talked to two 12-year-old boys Ben and Layne, I asked them if this was their first show and they both gave me this smart-ass look and started to rattle off all the bands they had seen. I asked them who they were looking forward to see the most and they instantly rattled off Papa Roach and Avenged Sevenfold... smart boys! Ben aspires to be in a band and told me how he could rock the guitar, I said the only thing I could rock was guitar hero. It was refreshing to see some younger kids at the show since it was mostly full of Testosterone.

Papa Roach owned the night in my opinion... it looked like the band was having the time of their life and that makes such a difference in their performance. The main singer constantly had a smile on his face and made sure to cover every inch of the fucking stage... and if that wasn't enough he got off the stage walked on the floor and hopped over the barrier to the seats. It's not every day you get a rock star who is cool enough to get in a crowd and let people touch his arms, I swear one girl was going to faint. If he touched me I might of too though; defiantly easy on the eyes. They rocked their old stuff and played some of the not so rockin' new stuff but it was fun, loud, and fast - it was a rock show. Cannot wait for their new album to come out!

buckcherry

Ooo Buckcherry what an interesting nasally mess. I was not a fan of the cocaine skinny singer and him using the microphone as a limp penis during one of his crappy rock ballad songs. I was also not pleased to see cartoon boobs on the big screen, if you are going to flaunt some titties show the real thing... rockers do not show anime - come on now... My last thought on this train wreck was the fact that the song "Scream" is a romantic song...I leave it at that.

Avenged Sevenfold... first off all it took forever for the band to get set up, but as soon as they took the stage it was very fast guitar riffs and LOUD screaming, my ears are still ringing. It was cool see that Avenge Sevenfold had such a huge following too. But I think my favorite part of their set was watching all the drunken frat boys be pulled out from the mosh pit buy a skinny little old CMS (Crowd Management Services) lady.

Lessons of the night...

Do not ask a lady how old she is .... Its Rude, Rude, Rude, Rude, Rude, RUDE! AND don’t let your 13 year old daughter go a rock show with her boyfriend; they will just make out the whole time... and touch each other inappropriately - gross.

Overall it was a fun night, I saw a lot from Spokane's finest (show the picture of the thong on the head if we can) and it was cool to see 4 big bands for $40 bucks... if you get a chance to see Papa Roach do it, you'll have a good time. (check out all our photos from the show)
