 Night three of the local shows.
First it was a slower indie scene then a metal scene and after tonight a ska/reggae scene! We headed down to the Empyrean on Sunday, March 8th to see Chase Long Beach from well Long Beach, California (I still asked where they were from, I don’t wanna talk about it).
Chase Long Beach HAD a rough day after getting up early, catching at ferry at 7am, dealing with crossing the border, a tire blowout, a broken toe, and no sleep they arrived to Spokane! For having such a shitty day they fucking rocked the empyrean – and the thirty some people there! It was a blast; their drummer played like Animal from the Muppets. With a trumpet and a trombone player, a chic singer who also screamed their set was loud, fast, and full of piss and vinegar and might smell like it also (they mentioned its been 5 or 6 days with out a shower). It was cool to see this band in that setting, at one point the guitar player needed duct tape to fix his guitar strap and the band just stopped and asked the crowd – he got some duct tape! The crowd was having a blast, it was cool to see like 15 high school kids out on a Sunday night (while mom and dad are in the coffee shop part) just skank dance and jump around and sweat! Overall it was a cool way to end the week. Go support Chase Long Beach – they are on tour and need some sleep and a shower!
