Capillary Action and Cyrus Fell Down
Monday, June 29th 2009

capillary actionLollipops & Dreadlocks

Capillary Action was tightly orchestrated and able to stop and go with their music like a traffic light in New York City. One second it was a smidgen of trombone, dash of drums, sprinkle of bass, pinch of accordion, and a splash of guitar along with a handful of spunky vocals and soft harmonies; then the next second it was at a complete halt. I was impressed with their ability to repeatedly do that.

They were a funky group of musicians that put on a set you will never hear again by anyone else. It is fresh, unique, and quirky. They even had volunteers up on stage shaking maraca's and tambourines, bells. How much fun to get the audience involved I love it.

With lollipops & bare feet, highlights & dreadlocks, and friends & family the Empyrean was mixed well with people of all sorts. Everyone rose to their feet and gathered around the stage to watch the truly talented Cyrus Fell Down. With a one of a kind bass player, one shoe'd drummer, and a singer who can show you the amount of muscles you have in your face by singing; their set was fun to see.

cyrus fell downThey turned off the lights and left one a green light and a white light directed towards the drummers creating this alien green like light show. Only making the Empyrean "music cave" seem that more mysterious. Matt got to hear his jam Church Clothes, I will admit it is a cool song.

If you haven't seen Cyrus Fell Down then you are in for a treat (whether you have or haven't) because their CD Release show is on Friday, July 10th at the Empyrean. It will be a chance for you to not only pick up some new tunes for your car or home stereo but also for you to see the great live band known as ... Cyrus Fell Down. The show starts at 8pm and cost $5 bucks... don't want to miss out on this musical madness.
