Experience Hendrix

These Amps Go To Eleven

Last night I got a chance to go to the INBC and see the Hendrix experience.  Original members of Hendrix's band plus some of the best players on the planet.  I was proud when Billy Cox was introduced as Nashville's own.  Billy was the original bass player for Jimi and hasn't missed a step.  Johnny Lang was incredible and it was so cool to see how each player was inspired by the next.  The Doors lead player Robbie Kreiger set the pace and when you think how long they have been playing it's no wonder they were magic.  Mitch Mitchell, Jimi's drummer was funny and played the middle drum kit.  There were three drummers in total.Queensryche did three Jimi songs and the lead player for them was really good too.  Buddy Guy's band was amazing.  The key board player would swap leads with Buddy and neither ever missed a beat.

I love all types of music and to see the brotherhood of musicians sharing their talents for the pure love of playing is heart warming.  Jenny and I have been going to Nashville every year for the last 10 years and me 5 years before that so we've been able to listen and witness many great musicians and there's nothing like the energy of a live show.  When you get a chance to see a show live don't miss the opportunity.  Now I'm trying to figure out how to do Radio this afternoon because it was SOOOO LOUD last night I'm deaf.
