Finn Riggins
The Empyrean, Thursday, 2.4.10

I was a little bummed when I took a seat in the front row before the show started. I think chairs are appropriate for some sets but we have seen Finn Riggins twice and they are not a chair band. I didn’t want to be the only one standing up in the front, that is too embarrassing and I am not that brave. So after taping my feet to a song or two I wrote the lovely Rhea a note (like in high school) and asked her if she would dance with me. She laughed and said in a little.

All the sudden two girls came dancing to the front and then stood off to the right, then two boys, then I stood off to the side and slowly we would inch in. After getting closer and closer “Shakey” loosened up my hips and I would say there were about eight of us standing up in front. Well “Wake” woke up the crowd and there was probably 15 kids dancing including Joe who gave me the confidence to let loose! It was wonderful and soooo much fun!

Finn Riggins music broke in the dance floor at the Empyrean (we think – haven’t seen anyone else dance at a show yet)! That was how the show was meant to be, kids dancing and having fun to tremendous music!

Finn Riggins as usual were a treat to see. They are a perfect live band! All three of them sing, play, and dance; you can tell they are having just as much fun as the crowd is. That may also be while they are always on the road, they are starting another tour! Hopefully they can come back this summer! I also noticed that Cameron added big fuzzy balls to the Polka dot drum set and the steel drums still sounded sweet!

I never knew that Lisa used this interesting like electric pick thing for an effect on her guitar. They are a riot to watch and the nicest people! I got to hear all the songs I wanted too (tried to sing along to Pankakes but can’t get the number order right) and they even played a final song after their set for a special girl in the crowd in which I think I know who she is!

Check them out as soon as you can well worth your time trust me your ear buds will appreciate it!
