Jason Mraz
Riverfront Park in the Lilac Bowl Amphitheater on Friday, September 25th

jason mrazIt is pretty cool to see almost 4,000 people sitting in Riverfront Park on Friday night at the only outdoor concert there of the summer (minus Pig Out in the Park). The venue painted a perfect picture with the background of Spokane and its city lights.

Bushwalla was the MC for the evening coming on stage in between sets and even during them. G Love and Special Sauce opened up before Jason Mraz took the stage.

Mr. Mraz has a big band! But then again there were two semi-trucks that were full of gear. I want to know how people go about picking and finding these musicians that play with people like Jason. They are on top of their game and know how to get a crowd moving. It is always a delight to see an artist you hear every day on the radio play with a full band. It makes such a difference when you can see all the instrument verses them being recorded.

Jason Mraz sounded just like he does on any album as he was standing barefoot on stage along the river. He was dancing and had a lot of energy and was excited to be playing back in Spokane. His music was perfect for the park. For being this little guy he definitely has loud but darling vocals. He sang about love and he sang the hits.

People were dancing or just cuddling up next to their boyfriend/girlfriend on the cool fall night. G Love got up on stage and joined Jason for some singing too. It was a great night to spend outside before the snow falls in Spokane and enjoy fun popular music that I think a music fan of any age could enjoy.
