MCA Nashville / Mercury Records Nashville Showcase
Wednesday, February 24th, Ryman Theater, Nashville Tennessee

MCA Nashville and Mercury Records put on one of the most brilliant and amazing showcases I have ever seen in my life with one very simple concept take all the talent on our label (excluding George Strait and Shania Twain) and let them play one song. It seems simple right but when you have the talent that this record label does on its roster it becomes brilliant.

Easton Corbin, Laura Bell Bundy, Josh Kelly, Randy Montana, Cold Water Jane, Mallary Hope, Ashton Shepherd, Randy Rogers Band, Ryan Bingham, David Nail, Julianne Hough, Billy Currington, Jamey Johnson, Gary Allan, Josh Turner, Gary Allan, Lee Ann Womack, Vince Gill and Sugarland rounded out the showcase. 19 songs by 19 class act and top notch artists.

The Performances just snowballed as the artists fed off of each others energy. Amazing talent when you have one chance to make your mark and everyone that performed killed it! I’m sure with all the history of The Ryman that every artist knows how special it is to play this historic stage.

Easton Corbin started the showcase off and sounded like a young George Strait. Simply put, this kid is talented and will be a superstar soon. Pop artist Josh Kelly just singed to the country label and sounds better as a country singer than a pop singer. Standing ovations after performances by David Nail – who brought more than a few people in the audience to tears, Jamey Johnson – who’s song “That’s Why I Write Songs” is the most honest song in country music today and Vince Gill who was been at his craft as long as I have been alive just blew me away. What a heartfelt, honest performance.

By the time Sugarland performed the final song of the show, a song they wrote for the Olympics, everyone in the Ryman left in amazement and this show case was the talk of the town the rest of the time I was in Nashville.
