Plain White T's w/ Danger Radio
3.26.2009 - The Knitting Factory - Spokane, WA

What The Heck!danger radio

If a ticket says the show starts at 8pm it needs to start at 8pm. Matt and I arrived at the Knitting Factory at 7:45pm to see the Plain White T’s, Danger Radio, and Verdera rock the house at 8pm but when we walked up the hallway to get into the venue I heard music and Verdera had started 30minutes early –wtf? Anyhow so we caught the last few songs of Verdera and got ready for Danger Radio!

The Knitting Factory has two large screens on each side of the stage and instead of being black or having a logo up they had a fan cam video feed and texting put on by the Plain White T’s. At first I was like ehh people shouldn’t go to a concert and text they should pay attention to the bands. Well it made intermission like 10 times more interesting because people were texting some very funny comments. Plus I got checkitoutmusic.com up on the screen, but at my second attempt the administrator deleted it – bastard!

plain white t'sI think Danger Radio is an awesome live band; they have fun, play around on stage, and have great personalities that make them a blast to see. This was their first stop on the tour with the Plain White T’s and that just added to their spunk on stage. Let’s just say they made me want to Slow Dance With a Stranger. Not only was it their first stop on the tour but they played “Used and Abused” for the first time live and it sounded really good! I love how this band mix’s electronic beats with an indie “emo?” rock band. Now I moved to the bar but I am pretty sure they rocked a little bit of Brittney’s Toxic but that could have been the beer… overall they exceeded my expectations of them (from the last show) and I can’t wait to see those Seattle boys perform again!

I was ready to see the Plain White T’s because yes I am a fan, how can you not like their hits like “1,2,3,4,” “Natural Disaster,” “Hey There Delilah,” and “Hate.” It was really hard to hold my inner teenage girl in; okay honestly I didn’t hold anything in I let loose and sang my lungs out. The stage concept of their set was really cool too; it was in three acts with intermissions and everything the tour was actually called The 3 Part Harmony Tour, and yes those boys had great harmonies. They opened with “Big Bad World” played a few more songs, then went to their acoustic set had one more intermission, and ended the show with a third set including their hit “Hey There Delilah.” The band had a lot of energy and it was fun to watch them perform live and go through different sets. Don’t let their mainstream pop radio hits fool you, these five guys are talented and it really showed in their concert. If they came back I would see them again and I recommend you do the same!
