Adelitas Way, Halestorm, and Theory of a Deadman
2.20.10 | The Knitting Factory

halestorm"Spokane...how the fuck we doing tonight!" Adelitas Way from Las Vegas was ready to get the full house pumped for the night. With five people in the band and two singers and a T-Rex on top of the green drum set there was plenty going on. The house seemed to know the lyrics and the ladies in the front were going wild. For being a rock band they sure were sharp dressers. I did learn that Adelitas Way is a street in Tijuana where all of the whore houses are. Hmmmm I guess rock, chics, and sex do go together. If you like any of the above I am thinking Adelitas Way is just for you!

I had no IDEA no IDEA that Halestorm had a chic singer! Before she came out on stage she was singing and I was like is that a girl or a boy with a high pitch. Nope it was a badass girl singing with a gold microphone! Halestorm was my favorite band of the night by far. This chic had crazy vocals where one moment she could sing very softly and beautiful and then the next be screaming like Joplin.

Not only does Halestorm have a talented singer but the drummer kicks ass as well! He came out wearing a Sgt. Pepper's outfit complete with hat! Just in case you do not know her Spokane, she is a women that likes to be on top and in control.  At one point during the their set the drummer put on this killer drum solo where he started out with drumsticks then threw them out into the crowd, then was handed these huge huge huge drumsticks, killed that, and then went back to normal drumsticks, and then he played a garbage can. Before you knew it the whole band was jamming together on garbage cans. It was so cool!!!!!!

theory of a deadmanThey had a lot of energy and gave a shout out to Top Soil and their 10 year old drummer! She said she started in a band at 13! They were just nice people, at the end of their set they handed out everything possible, set lists, drum sticks, guitar picks, her bracelets, gave handshakes! I would definitely see them again!

When Theory of a Deadman came out everyone in the house screamed. It was so full we were jammed in their like sardines and just every person (no matter the sex or age) around me was beside themselves. Theory of a Deadman are Spokane Virgins, I think they will be back too after the show tonight. They were a tight live three piece. Their set had a lot of speaker stacks and then way up high was their drummer. It looked badass.

I didn't know a lot about them before the show. They do have a new album "Scars & Souvenirs" that they played some tracks off of including "By The Way" and "Bad Girlfriend." They had a good energy as well on stage, they kept it kind of cool and kept the crowd happy. The one bummer of the night was that the ATM was broken and the bar was not taking cards. Not a good situation to be in at a rock show. It was cool to see the support from Spokane for these bands and I would say everyone had a great night minus the few that had a bit too much to drink.
