Dweezil Zappa Plays Zappa
Sunday, November 29th at The Bing Crosby Theater

dweezil zappaDweezil Zappa plays Zappa is proof that talent is hereditary. Dweezil Zappa and his band took to the stage @ The Bing on Sunday night and this could well rank as one of most important/ best shows I’ve ever seen.

Dweezil, the son of the late Frank Zappa has seemingly inherited his fathers immense musical talent or could quite possibly be channeling ol Frank himself. Surrounded by top flight musicians, Zappa worked his way through such gems as "Yellow Snow" "Catholic Girls" "Peaches En Regalia" and of course "Willie The Pimp".

I was quite impressed with Dweezil as a guitar player as well. His skills can be summed up simply as "Bad Assed".  I was rather unfamiliar with a lot of Frank Zappa's music however, I became a fan of Frank in the 1980's when he appeared on Capitol Hill to challenge the government wanting to censor music (AKA The PMRC, look it up).

Towards the end of the night, Dweezil was trying to find a guy who was video taping the show. He explained that normally taping is not allowed but, you can now send your footage to his website dweezilzappaworld.com for everybody to watch and discuss. Cool move on Zappas part.

This is my gripe though and it goes out to all of the douchebags that insist on shoving their Blackberry’s and iPhones on stage to take pictures. Have some class leave them in your pocket, let the band do their job.

At the end of the night it was great that Dweezil shook everyone’s hand that wanted a hand shake and singed an autograph for anyone that asked. Dweezil Zappa is a true class act.
